Mill Cottage was originally built in 1852, by pioneer settler Charles Haylock.
Distinctive features still to be found include the original totara slabs on the back wall, hand forged nails, the steep narrow staircase and the inwards opening casement windows.
You will enjoy the unique experience of staying in a traditional pioneer cottage. The cottage is now fully restored with all the comforts of a modern home.

The main bedroom and sitting room are downstairs. The main bedroom has a queen bed with fine linen, electric blanket, down duvet, luxurious pillows and bathrobes.
The new bathroom and separate toilet are cleverly tucked into the niches of the original cottage and the shower is ensuite from the main bedroom.
The downstairs sitting room has French doors to the sunny veranda.

The dining area extends into the former kitchen with its sloping wooden ceiling and brick fireplace which now has a wood stove to heat the whole Cottage. Decorated with cottage furniture, the kitchen has a refrigerator and microwave oven and all china, cutlery and glassware. Quality teas and coffee are provided along with homemade treats and your breakfast can be served here, in the sitting room or on the veranda.
